A Coastal Home Where Texture Tells the Story

Color can overwhelm a coastal home, where light is already vivid and ever-changing. For this project, we set ourselves a constraint: build all the warmth through texture and almost none through hue.

Layering Without Loudness

Bouclé, raw linen, brushed plaster, and weathered timber give the eye somewhere to travel even within a single tonal family. Texture became our color — depth achieved through touch rather than contrast.

Respecting the Coastal Light

Soft, chalky finishes absorb the bright sea light that would bounce harshly off glossier surfaces. The result is a home that feels grounded and warm despite its exposed, luminous setting.
