The Townhouse Transformation: Before and After

This narrow townhouse arrived to us as a series of small, dim rooms stacked over four floors. The family wanted light, flow, and a sense of calm — without losing the intimacy that drew them to the home.

Borrowing Light Between Floors

Rather than chase square footage, we chased daylight. A reworked stair void and internal glazing now carry light from the roof down through the core, so even the lower floors feel connected to the sky.

Intimacy Within Openness

Open plans can feel exposed, so we defined zones with rugs, ceiling height, and material shifts rather than walls. The home reads as generous and connected, yet every corner still offers somewhere to settle quietly.
